Your expertise will help support field teams, coordinate prevention activities, and promote best practices in occupational health and safety on major construction projects.
Challenges awaiting you
- Participate in the development, implementation, and ongoing update of the construction site’s prevention program
- Ensure the implementation and effective coordination of activities among all employers working on the construction site
- Identify potential hazards and recommend appropriate corrective measures
- Conduct regular site inspections to help maintain a safe working environment
- Ensure workers understand the risks associated with their tasks and the preventive measures to follow
- Receive accident notifications and participate in investigations involving incidents or near misses
- Accompany CNESST inspectors during site visits and ensure required follow-up actions are completed
- Act as the owner’s representative on the site health and safety committee
- Prepare agendas for site committee meetings
- Record meeting minutes and follow up on action items
- Maintain required records and site documentation
- Perform any other duties related to assigned mandates
Profile we’re looking for
- Hold the Health and Safety Coordinator (COSS) certification required by the CNESST
- Hold a valid First Aid certification in accordance with applicable regulations
- Have a minimum of three years of experience in an occupational health and safety advisory role on construction sites in Québec
- Hold valid construction industry training certificates, including working at heights, confined spaces, crystalline silica exposure, scaffolding, and other relevant training
- Demonstrate the ability to engage project stakeholders around a strong health and safety culture
- Demonstrate a strong field presence, excellent communication skills, and the ability to build positive working relationships
- Demonstrate autonomy, sound judgment, flexibility, and initiative
- Demonstrate excellent written and spoken French
- Possess a strong knowledge of Québec occupational health and safety legislation, regulations, and standards
- Be proficient with Microsoft 365 applications, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
- Hold a valid driver’s licence and have access to a vehicl
