Sustainable Development and Geothermal Energy

Are you looking to apply your mechanical engineering knowledge to sustainable energy solutions during the winter of 2027 ?

This internship combines office-based work with field activities, offering hands-on experience in building energy performance and geothermal projects within a multidisciplinary team.

Challenges awaiting you

  • Analyze building operational data to contribute to optimizing design methods and energy performance
  • Perform energy simulations and load calculations
  • Prepare grant applications
  • Participate in geothermal construction site inspections in collaboration with the engineers responsible for the projects
  • Conduct in-situ testing on geothermal wells and monitor the results
  • Support the team in various technical activities related to sustainable development projects
  • Perform any other related duties in support of ongoing projects

Profile we’re looking for

  • Be currently enrolled in a bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Building Engineering, or a related field
  • Hold a valid ASP Construction certification
  • Demonstrate a strong interest in sustainable development and energy systems
  • Demonstrate the ability to work both in an office and on construction sites
  • Hold a valid driver’s licence and have access to a vehicle
  • Demonstrate resourcefulness and an aptitude for hands-on work
  • Demonstrate autonomy, attention to detail, and strong analytical skills
  • Demonstrate an ability to work effectively in a multidisciplinary team
  • Have knowledge of load calculation software, such as TRACE (asset)
  • Have knowledge of energy simulation software such as IESVE and eQuest (asset)
  • Have strong proficiency in Microsoft Office
