This role offers the opportunity to design process mechanical equipment and industrial piping systems for large-scale multidisciplinary projects serving the energy and industrial sectors.
Challenges awaiting you
- Lead projects from front-end engineering through detailed engineering
- Design and select process mechanical equipment for multidisciplinary projects
- Deliver projects using EPCM, EPC, or IPD execution models while applying established project management processes
- Analyze client requirements and define the technical scope of projects
- Prepare technical specifications for process mechanical and piping systems
- Design and size process mechanical equipment and associated piping systems
- Collaborate with designers, technicians, and engineers throughout project execution
- Perform the research, engineering studies, analyses, and calculations required for design
- Prepare technical reports, specifications, and engineering documents
- Seal engineering documents and deliverables under your responsibility
- Perform field surveys and plant validations
- Participate in engineering effort estimates and project monitoring
- Provide technical support to estimating and construction teams when required
- Identify, interpret, and apply applicable engineering codes and standards
- Monitor project schedules and budgets in collaboration with management
- Represent gbi with clients and coordinate communications among project stakeholders
- Ensure services delivered comply with contractual requirements and quality standards
- Perform any other related duties that contribute to project delivery
Profile we’re looking for
- Hold a bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering
- Be a member of the Ordre des ingénieurs du Québec (or be eligible for membership)
- Have a minimum of 10 years of experience in the design of process mechanical equipment and its integration into industrial projects
- Demonstrate strong expertise in process mechanical engineering, including equipment selection, design, sizing, and industrial piping systems
- Demonstrate strong knowledge of ASME, API, and other applicable standards for the energy and industrial sectors
- Have experience with Caesar II software (asset)
- Demonstrate experience in one or more of the following sectors:
- Clean energy (biofuels, hydrogen, alternative fuels, etc.)
- Petrochemicals
- Mining and metals
- Pulp and paper
- Battery manufacturing and advanced technology components
- Demonstrate excellent written and spoken French
- Hold a valid ASP Construction certification
- Demonstrate strong teamwork and collaboration skills
