This role is part of large-scale projects in renewable energy, chemical processes, and industrial facilities, where piping and mechanical equipment design and 3D modelling play a central role.
Challenges awaiting you
- Interpret technical drawings, plans, and specifications and ensure proper integration into projects
- Model mechanical equipment and industrial piping systems in 3D
- Participate in the development of general arrangement layouts
- Produce detailed drawings as well as piping plans and isometrics
- Contribute to the development of piping and instrumentation diagrams (P&ID)
- Prepare equipment and material lists using specialized software and Excel
- Support quantity take-offs and material estimates
- Collaborate with engineers and multidisciplinary design teams
- Conduct field surveys of mechanical installations and update drawings accordingly
- Perform mechanical system calculations using established methods
- Review shop drawings submitted by contractors
- Apply applicable codes, standards, and regulations in force in Québec
Profile we’re looking for
- College diploma (DEC) in mechanical engineering or equivalent
- Minimum of 10 years of experience in mechanical design and piping systems
- Strong proficiency in Plant 3D (Revit considered an asset)
- Solid knowledge of ASME B31.3 and API standards
- Proficiency in Excel and Word
- ASP Construction card
- Experience in consulting engineering (asset)
- Strong rigor, autonomy, and collaborative mindset
