gbi is looking for a senior mechanical building engineer to join its team based in Repentigny.
The successful candidate will actively contribute to projects in the institutional, residential, and commercial sectors, as well as for public partners and private developers. This position offers a great opportunity to apply expertise to a variety of mandates within a team known for its rigor and collaboration.
The challenges that await you
- Plan, supervise, and carry out the design and installation of mechanical systems (heating, ventilation, air conditioning, plumbing) for commercial and institutional projects (healthcare and educational networks)
- Determine the design concepts to be implemented according to partner requirements
- Supervise and carry out the preparation of plans and specifications
- Manage and support technical staff (technicians, drafters, and other engineers assigned to the projects)
- Review and coordinate mechanical engineering services in collaboration with other disciplines (architecture, engineering, etc.)
- Supervise and complete budget estimates, as well as plans and specifications reports
- Participate in construction site supervision
- Administer projects (invoicing, tracking, and change order requests) in collaboration with the administrative department
- Prepare service proposals and participate in business development under the supervision of management
The profile we’re looking for
- Hold a Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering with a specialization in building mechanics
- Be a member in good standing of the Ordre des ingénieurs du Québec Have a minimum of 10 years of relevant experience
- Have relevant experience in consulting engineering
- Have relevant experience in projects in the health and school networks Have excellent knowledge of applicable standards and codes
- Have the ability to represent the company well to its customers
- Have excellent written communication skills
- Know load calculation software (TRACE)
- Have a good knowledge of the Microsoft Office suite
