gbi is looking for a senior civil engineer to join its infrastructure team at our Brossard office.
The selected candidate will be responsible for leading a variety of projects on behalf of ministries, cities, municipalities, school service centers, and private developers, primarily in the Montreal, Montérégie, and Estrie regions. This key position offers the opportunity to play a leading role in the execution of major mandates within a dynamic and committed team.
The challenges that await you
- Determine partner needs and estimate the costs for civil infrastructure projects
- Obtain project inputs (existing plans, regulations, surveys, studies)
- Design water supply, sewer, and road networks
- Perform hydraulic calculations
- Coordinate the implementation of urban technical network (UTN) works
- Produce and interpret plans and specifications
- Estimate project quantities and costs
- Prepare municipal permit applications and ministerial authorizations
- Plan and supervise civil engineering works
- Ensure compliance of construction works
The profile we’re looking for
- Hold a bachelor’s degree in civil engineering
- Hold a master’s degree (asset)
- Be a member in good standing of the Ordre des ingénieurs du Québec
- Have experience in consulting engineering
- Have a minimum of 8 years of specialization in infrastructure (sewers, water supply, urban technical networks) and roadworks
- Master optimal approaches for stormwater management
- Be familiar with drainage network modeling software (SWMM) and water distribution software (EPANET)
- Be familiar with standards and regulations concerning water supply networks as well as sanitary and storm sewers
- Be available to travel to project sites
- Possess a collaborative mindset
- Be comfortable working in a hybrid remote work environment
