gbi is seeking an intermediate or senior Hydraulic Design Engineer specialized in municipal engineering to join its Urban Infrastructure team.
The successful candidate will actively participate in the design and execution of projects for ministries, municipalities, cities, and private developers. This position offers a great opportunity to contribute to diverse projects and have a tangible impact on the planning and development of communities.
The challenges that await you
- Act as project manager for various projects related to urban hydrology and hydraulics
- Identify partner needs in municipal infrastructure projects
- Produce and interpret plans and specifications
- Design hydraulic structures
- Perform drainage calculations and use the SWMM software
- Conduct hydraulic balancing calculations for water supply networks
- Coordinate with partners and present plans and specifications
- Submit documents for approval to the Ministry of the Environment, the Fight Against Climate Change (MELCC)
- Conduct river hydraulic studies for the design of engineering structures (bridges and culverts) in accordance with MTQ requirements
- Participate in the preparation of service proposals
The profile we’re looking for
- Hold a bachelor’s degree in civil engineering
- Be a member in good standing of the Ordre des ingénieurs du Québec
- Have a minimum of 5 years of relevant experience
- Experience in consulting engineering for municipalities (asset)
- Experience with projects involving the Ministère des Transports du Québec (asset)
- Knowledge of MELCC standards
- Proficiency in optimal stormwater management approaches
- Familiarity with the following software: SWMM, Aquagéo, HEC-RAS, EPANET, QGIS (asset)
- Fluency in spoken and written French
- Hold a valid ASP construction safety card
