As Head of Bridges and Civil Structures, you will play a key role in technical leadership, delivery of major projects, and team mentorship within a collaborative environment.

The challenges that await you

Technical leadership and innovation :

  • Lead internal initiatives and contribute to the development of standards, tools, and best practices for the Bridges and Civil Structures unit
  • Contribute to the continuous improvement of design, inspection, and rehabilitation methods in accordance with MTMD standards and client requirements
  • Provide technical support to project teams and act as a subject matter expert in transportation structures
  • Mentor engineers and technicians within the unit and actively support their technical development
  • Promote and embody the company’s values: competent, ethical, human, and passionate

Project delivery :

  • Define structural concepts for bridge, culvert, pedestrian bridge, and civil structure projects, considering site constraints, loads, durability, and client expectations
  • Review and coordinate work in collaboration with other disciplines, including civil, geotechnical, traffic, hydraulic, environmental, and related fields
  • Oversee the preparation of cost estimates, schedules, and plans and specifications
  • Provide technical supervision when required, in collaboration with technicians, designers, and responsible engineers
  • Participate in site meetings and conduct site visits for technical follow-up
  • Ensure compliance of deliverables, monitor schedules and budgets, and recommend necessary adjustments

The profile we’re looking for

  • Hold a bachelor’s degree in civil engineering or construction engineering
  • Be a member in good standing of the Ordre des ingénieurs du Québec
  • Have more than 10 years of experience in bridges and civil structures
  • Hold MTMD training and certifications for bridges and civil structures
  • Be familiar with the Canadian code for highway bridge design (CSA/S6)
  • Demonstrate flexibility and adaptability with different clients
  • Have strong teamwork skills
  • Be able to effectively manage demanding situations while meeting deadlines
