gbi is looking for a civil engineer to join its infrastructure team at our Quebec office.
The selected candidate will be responsible for leading various projects on behalf of ministries, cities, municipalities, school service centers, and private developers. This position offers the opportunity to contribute to large-scale mandates in a collaborative and constantly evolving environment.
The challenges that await you
- Determine the needs of partners and estimate the costs for the execution of civil infrastructure projects
- Obtain project inputs (existing plans, regulations, surveys, studies)
- Design water supply, sewer, and road networks
- Perform hydraulic calculations
- Coordinate the implementation of urban technical network (UTN) works
- Produce and interpret plans and specifications
- Estimate project quantities and costs
- Prepare municipal permit applications and ministerial authorizations
- Plan and oversee civil engineering works
- Ensure compliance of construction works
The profile we’re looking for
- Hold a bachelor’s degree in civil engineering
- Hold a master’s degree (asset)
- Be a member in good standing of the Ordre des ingénieurs du Québec
- Have experience in consulting engineering
- Have a minimum of 5 years of specialization in infrastructure (sewers, water supply, RTU) and roadworks
- Master optimal stormwater management approaches
- Be familiar with drainage network modeling software (SWMM) and water distribution software (EPANET)
- Be knowledgeable of standards and regulations regarding sanitary and stormwater sewer networks
- Be available to travel to project sites
- Demonstrate a collaborative mindset
- Be comfortable in a hybrid telework environment
