gbi is experiencing significant growth and is looking to strengthen the technical team within its Energy and Industrial department.
As part of this expansion, we are seeking a Structural Engineer specializing in Hydropower and Dams to contribute to major projects in the field of renewable energy. Working in close collaboration with the department leadership, the selected candidate will apply their expertise to ensure the smooth execution of operations and actively contribute to the development of this area of specialization within the firm.
The challenges that await you
- Perform engineering of hydraulic structures, dams, and hydroelectric facilities for new installations or rehabilitation of existing structures
- Contribute to dam safety studies
- Participate in the inspection of existing structures
- Conduct studies, analyses, and design calculations
- Assist in the preparation of reports, plans, and specifications
- Collaborate with technicians and engineers on projects and provide supervision when required
- Contribute to project management for your discipline, monitoring schedules and budgets in coordination with the project manager
- Provide technical support during construction (office and/or site)
- Establish and maintain relationships with partners and serve as an ambassador for the firm
The profile we’re looking for
- Hold a bachelor’s degree in civil engineering (Structures) or any other equivalent education
- Have a minimum of 10 years of experience in hydraulic structures engineering or hydropower projects
- Be a member in good standing of the Ordre des ingénieurs du Québec
- Demonstrate excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Collaborate effectively within a team
