In a context of sustained growth, gbi is strengthening its technical team within the Energy and industrial department. We are seeking a Structural Department Manager dedicated to hydroelectricity and dams, who will play a key role in the development of this specialty.
Working closely with the department leadership, this person will actively contribute to the delivery of large-scale projects in the renewable energy sector. This strategic role involves both supervising the division’s operations and mobilizing technical expertise within the team. The individual will also be responsible for supporting the growth and structuring of the specialized hydroelectricity and dams team.

- Participate in business development by identifying new partners and business opportunities
- Plan, organize, and lead all team resources and activities
- Coach and mentor team members, ensuring their technical and professional development
- Take charge of projects, from preliminary engineering to detailed engineering execution
- Monitor project schedules and budgets in collaboration with department management
- Represent the firm with clients
- Contribute to the preparation of service proposals
- Perform engineering of hydraulic structures, dams, and hydroelectric development facilities for new installations or the rehabilitation of existing structures
- Contribute to dam safety studies
- Participate in the inspection of existing structures
- Conduct studies, analyses, and design calculations
- Assist in the preparation of plans and specifications
The profile we’re looking for
- Hold a bachelor’s degree in civil engineering (structural) or other equivalent training
- Be a member in good standing of the Ordre des ingénieurs du Québec
- Have a minimum of 15 years of relevant experience
- Have experience in human resource management
- Possess excellent communication skills, both spoken and written, in French and English
