University Intern – Site Inspector
Geothermal Energy

gbi is seeking a bachelor’s-level student in mechanical engineering for a summer 2026 internship within its department specializing in sustainable development.

This internship will provide an opportunity to contribute concretely to innovative projects focused on building energy performance and the integration of sustainable solutions, particularly in geothermal energy. The selected candidate will work both in the office and in the field, in close collaboration with a multidisciplinary team.

The challenges awaiting you

  • Participate in the monitoring of geothermal construction sites, in collaboration with the engineers responsible for the projects
  • Conduct in-situ testing on geothermal wells and ensure proper follow-up
  • Analyze building operational data to support the optimization of design methods and energy performance
  • Support the team in various technical activities related to sustainable development projects
  • Perform any other related tasks in support of ongoing projects

The profile we are looking for

  • Be currently enrolled in a bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering, building engineering, or a related field
  • Hold a valid ASP Construction Card (General Health and Safety on Construction Sites)
  • Demonstrate a strong interest in sustainable development and energy systems
  • Be comfortable working both in an office environment and on construction sites
  • Hold a valid driver’s licence and have access to a vehicle
  • Show resourcefulness and aptitude for hands-on work
  • Demonstrate autonomy, rigor, and strong analytical skills
  • Be comfortable working within a multidisciplinary team
  • Have knowledge of load calculation software (TRACE) is considered an asset
  • Be familiar with Microsoft Office
