gbi contributed to the Centre Bell lighting modernization project by performing energy calculations and supporting the team with grant applications.

As a result of this project, the Centre Bell upgraded from 104 metal halide fixtures (171.6 kW) to 130 LED fixtures (82.7 kW), while increasing the lighting level from 1,500 to 2,000 lux. This transition to LED technology enables a 63 % reduction in energy consumption, in part thanks to the cross-effect on the cooling compressors.
