gbi participated in the final capping of cells 1 and 2 at the City of Matane’s technical landfill, covering an area of approximately 14,000 m², including the installation of biogas extraction wells and the placement of granular materials and geosynthetics.

The project also included the development of the new cells 4A, 4B, and 5 over 18,000 m², featuring a multilayer clay-based waterproofing system and a leachate and stormwater drainage network. Located on clayey soil, the site required the construction of a temporary access road to maintain internal circulation and the waterproofing of the cell walls using a bentonite barrier.

gbi provided design, cost estimates, coordination among stakeholders, preparation of preliminary and final plans and specifications, assistance with the ministerial authorization request, support during the tender process, bid analysis, as well as office and site supervision with quality control of all infrastructures.
