Duchesnay Water Production Plant
2023

gbi was commissioned to carry out the construction of a new raw water pumping station and the expansion of the municipal drinking water treatment plant in Sainte-Catherine-de-la-Jacques-Cartier.
Our team supported the project from preliminary design through to commissioning, preparing the plans and specifications, overseeing construction, and coordinating the start-up of operations.
The new pumping station was equipped with two vertical turbine pumps, piping, valves, and all necessary accessories to ensure a reliable and safe supply of raw water.
The expansion of the Duchesnay drinking water treatment plant demonstrates gbi’s commitment to the building, water, environmental, and infrastructure sectors, as well as its ability to deliver sustainable, safe, and innovative projects.
gbi’s expertise in municipal projects and water networks
gbi supervised the refurbishment of the circulation area around the plant and the installation of an outdoor soundproof generator.
All aspects of civil, structural, and architectural engineering, process mechanics, ventilation, plumbing, electrical systems, instrumentation, and control were integrated into a coherent and sustainable process, ensuring the performance and reliability of the infrastructure.
The project was carried out while keeping the drinking water treatment plant fully operational, a critical requirement to ensure the continuity of municipal services. This complexity was managed through careful coordination and recognized expertise in municipal project management and water treatment infrastructure. gbi continues to provide reliable and high-performance solutions for water and sewer networks as well as complex municipal projects.
