gbi was mandated to design a new 3,799 m² building on the campus of the École des métiers spécialisés de Laval, entirely dedicated to metallurgy training. The project aimed to create a modern, functional, and sustainable learning environment capable of meeting the needs of both students and faculty.

The mandate included the design of classrooms and common areas, the installation of technical learning spaces, the relocation of specialized machinery, and connection works with existing buildings.

Environmental initiatives were also integrated, such as geothermal heating and cooling, as well as the creation of a retention basin for stormwater management. Landscaping was completed to provide users with green spaces and relaxation areas.
