To design and oversee the construction of a sustainable public building to house the Sûreté du Québec in Mascouche was the mandate entrusted to gbi.
Located at 3005 Avenue de la Gare, the headquarters of the MLLL district brings together all operational functions of the SQ in a building that is secure, modern and environmentally responsible.
The building achieved LEED® C+CB : New construction, Gold certification, demonstrating gbi’s commitment to sustainable development. The project includes a detention block, multifunctional rooms, a vault, offices as well as a 295-space parking area divided between an outdoor lot and a secured parking area with garage access.
Minimizing the environmental impact of construction through concrete measures such as recycling construction waste and selecting regional materials, particularly wood, allowed gbi to significantly reduce the project’s ecological footprint.

Ensuring the design and supervision of structural and civil engineering works allowed gbi to guarantee the strength and durability of the building.
The conventional concrete strip foundations, the walls of the detention block and the ground floor slab in concrete, as well as the steel-braced framework for the upper floors and roof, demonstrate a rigorous technical approach.
Designing an exterior cladding in torrefied poplar, in accordance with the government plan promoting the use of wood in public building construction, combined performance, aesthetics and durability. Completing the exterior development, including circulation pathways, concrete curbs, paved surfaces and connections to municipal water, domestic sewer and stormwater systems, further enhanced the functionality and sustainability of the project.
