Your key responsibilities
Project management:
- Plan, coordinate, and deliver occupational hygiene and hazardous materials management mandates for public and private clients
- Act as a key point of contact for clients and ensure follow-up on requests, schedules, and deliverables
- Prepare service proposals, budget estimates, and project schedules
- Ensure administrative and financial follow-up of projects, including compliance with budgets, timelines, and profitability targets
- Coordinate the work of internal and external stakeholders (technicians, laboratories, subcontractors, contractors, and clients)
- Plan and supervise field activities and provide support to technicians during site surveys or sampling, as required
- Prepare technical reports, work procedures, specifications, and other professional documents
- Interpret analysis results and make recommendations in accordance with regulatory requirements and industry best practices
- Ensure quality control of deliverables and compliance with standards, procedures, and contractual requirements
- Contribute to the development and maintenance of client relationships by delivering high-quality advisory services
- Collaborate with other disciplines within the firm on multidisciplinary projects
Fieldwork (characterization and work monitoring):
- Inspect buildings, components (walls, ceilings, floors), and/or materials for the potential presence of contaminants (asbestos, lead, mold, hazardous materials)
- Characterize materials likely to contain contaminants and send samples to laboratories for analysis, in accordance with recognized procedures and protocols
- Travel as required for site monitoring
- Ensure compliance with plans and specifications, mobilization plans (preventive measures), and/or work directives in collaboration with the project manager
Key qualifications for success
- Bachelor’s degree in science (microbiology, biochemistry, biology, chemistry, engineering, or other relevant field), or any equivalent combination of education and experience, including hands-on experience in occupational hygiene
- Minimum of 5 years of experience
- ASP Construction cardValid driver’s license and access to a vehicle
- Strong adaptability (variable schedules and work environments)
- Additional certifications (asset): confined space work, working at heights, lockout/tagout, and safe management of asbestos, lead, mold, and silica
