Geothermal Engineer

Are you looking to contribute to the design of geothermal solutions that improve building energy performance ?

This role combines design, technical studies, and field activities, with opportunities to contribute to a variety of geothermal projects as part of a multidisciplinary team.

Challenges awaiting you

Design and size geothermal systems, including closed-loop, standing column well, and open-loop systems
Prepare plans and specifications for geothermal systems
Perform finite element modelling of geothermal systems, particularly for standing column and open-loop wells
Conduct, supervise, and interpret various in-situ geothermal tests, including thermal response tests and pumping tests
Conduct studies to assess geothermal potential at the territorial scale
Prepare and manage applications for ministerial authorizations for geothermal systems using groundwater
Participate in geothermal construction site inspections
Collaborate with the various disciplines involved in projects to ensure the integration of geothermal solutions
Support the team in various technical activities related to sustainable development projects
Perform any other related duties in support of ongoing projects

Profile we’re looking for

Hold a bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Building Engineering, Geological Engineering, or a related field
Be a member of the Ordre des ingénieurs du Québec (OIQ)
Have relevant experience in geothermal energy
Demonstrate strong knowledge of hydrogeology
Demonstrate strong analytical and problem-solving skills
Be comfortable working both in an office and in the field
Demonstrate autonomy, attention to detail, and strong organizational skills
Demonstrate strong teamwork skills in a multidisciplinary environment
Hold a valid driver’s licence and have access to a vehicle
Have strong proficiency in Microsoft Office
Have knowledge of geographic information systems, such as ArcGIS and QGIS (asset)
