Geotechnical Engineer
Hydroelectric Power and Dams

Are you looking to apply your geotechnical expertise to projects that support the energy transition?

This role offers the opportunity to contribute to the design, assessment, and rehabilitation of hydroelectric facilities and embankment dams while collaborating with a multidisciplinary team on large-scale projects.

Challenges awaiting you

  • Participate in the planning, monitoring, and analysis of geotechnical investigations
  • Design foundations, embankments, and earthfill dams for new facilities and rehabilitation projects
  • Contribute to safety assessments of earthfill structures
  • Perform inspections of foundations and earth-retaining structures
  • Provide technical support for infrastructure and building projects
  • Carry out engineering studies, analyses, and design calculations
  • Contribute to the preparation of technical reports, drawings, and specifications
  • Collaborate with engineers and technicians while providing technical supervision when required
  • Contribute to project management activities, including schedule and budget monitoring for your discipline
  • Provide technical support to construction teams from the office and on-site
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with project partners and represent gbi as a trusted advisor

Profile we’re looking for

  • Hold a bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Geological Engineering, or a related discipline
  • Be a member in good standing of the Ordre des ingénieurs du Québec (or be eligible for membership)
  • Have a minimum of 10 years of experience in hydraulic structures or hydroelectric engineering projects
  • Demonstrate excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Demonstrate strong collaboration and teamwork skills
