Challenges awaiting you
Project management and leadership
- Manage environmental projects from planning through to final delivery, ensuring budgets, schedules, and quality objectives are met
- Act as the primary point of contact for clients, partners, subcontractors, government authorities, and other stakeholders
- Prepare, draft, and coordinate service proposals in biology, ecology, and environmental consulting
- Plan, coordinate, and supervise field activities, internal resources, and external collaborators
- Contribute to the growth and development of the environmental team by sharing expertise, mentoring junior staff, and proposing improved practices
- Oversee project administration and financial tracking, including budgets, profitability, and timelines
- Participate in continuous improvement of team methods, tools, and workflows
Biological expertise
- Conduct environmental impact assessments and other environmental mandates
- Carry out wildlife and vegetation surveys, including data analysis and interpretation
- Perform environmental characterization studies and prepare associated technical reports
- Participate in wetland and aquatic environment projects, including determination of the high-water mark (HWM) using recognized methods
- Assess environmental impacts and recommend mitigation, compensation, or restoration measures
- Develop revegetation plans as well as shoreline stabilization and restoration measures
- Carry out environmental monitoring during fieldwork and construction activities
- Conduct site visits, research, and analysis for Phase I Environmental Site Assessments
- Prepare and coordinate environmental permit applications, authorizations, and certifications with provincial and federal authorities
- Support the permitting process required for project execution
- Contribute to projects involving avifauna, fish habitat, and sensitive ecosystems
Profile we’re looking for
- Bachelor’s degree in Biology or a related field
- Membership in the Association des biologistes du Québec (ABQ)
- Minimum of five (5) years of relevant experience in environmental consulting or engineering consulting firms
- Proven experience in environmental project management, including planning, coordination, and budget/schedule tracking
- Field experience in natural and aquatic environments
- Experience in environmental impact assessments is considered a strong asset
- Knowledge of avifauna and fish habitat is considered an asset
- Proficiency in GIS software, particularly QGIS and/or ArcGIS
- ASP Construction card
- Strong autonomy, leadership, and organizational skills
- Interest in mentoring, team development, and knowledge sharing
- Valid driver’s license and access to a vehicle for field travel
- Excellent command of French, both spoken and written
