Théatre Hector Charland
2009

gbi participated in the construction and expansion of the Théâtre Hector-Charland, a performance hall renowned for its exceptional acoustic quality, a feature praised by numerous artists.
From the preliminary study to construction supervision, our team ensured an integrated and high-performance design meeting the highest standards of comfort, energy efficiency, and stage experience. The building features 685 seats across two levels, including a VIP lounge, with the possibility of accommodating up to 800 guests for special events. The 79-foot-high stage house, balcony, foyer, bar, dressing rooms, and administrative spaces reflect meticulous planning designed to provide a complete experience for both audiences and performers.
Performance and comfort at the heart of the design
The hall is fully air-conditioned with three rooftop systems powered by natural gas. Modulating burners ensure consistent comfort, while the heating, ventilation, and air conditioning (HVAC) systems were designed with exemplary soundproofing, providing a quiet and pleasant environment.
The supervised electrical network and the coordinated lighting dimming system were carefully integrated to optimize energy performance. An intelligent design of the stage lighting controls allows for reduced energy consumption during rehearsals without compromising the visual quality of the performance.
