Municipal

gbi is proud to have carried out the construction of a 12,000 m³ concrete drinking water reservoir in Châteauguay, including a modern booster station, as well as the renovation of the Ford booster station and the Marchand drinking water production station.
This project showcases gbi’s expertise in engineering, design, and construction supervision for municipal and industrial infrastructures related to water.
A technical design combining innovation, safety, and energy efficiency
The uniqueness of this project lies in the integration of innovative solutions to ensure service continuity and optimize energy efficiency.
The design of the booster station within an underground chamber allowed for maximum space utilization while ensuring operational safety, while a detailed hydraulic study determined the appropriate flow rates and pressures for each serviced area. The Ford and Marchand stations remained fully operational throughout the construction thanks to temporary pumping systems, and specialized interventions by divers in the drinking water tanks enabled the installation of a new ladder and the cleaning of the Marchand tank without interrupting water distribution.
The new variable-speed pumping systems were designed to achieve energy savings, and the reservoir was designed to minimize confined-space interventions, with integrated staircases to facilitate safe maintenance.
