Ahuntsic Park – Pond Sector

To restore adequate water quality in the pond, it was proposed to transform the fountain into a waterfall and add a water recirculation system that would pass through surface and subsurface wetlands. The integration of vegetation therefore provides both technical and aesthetic benefits.

The project also includes components to comply with the city’s stormwater management regulations, using the existing basins as bioretention basins.

Stormwater Management

The project notably includes:

  • Studies of options to improve the pond’s water quality
  • Hydraulic studies (and modeling) in compliance with Regulation 20-030
  • Plans and specifications for civil, process mechanical, and electrical works for the pond redevelopment
  • Integration of phytotechnologies into the project
