gbi is proud to have contributed to the mechanical and electrical design of École du Préambule, carried out for the Centre de services scolaire des Samares.
This large-scale project, with a total area of 4,280 m² spread over two floors, includes 19 elementary classrooms, 3 preschool classrooms, and a gymnasium, providing a modern, bright, and functional learning environment.
Energy performance without geothermal energy
With the goal of optimizing the building’s energy efficiency without relying on geothermal energy, our team developed an integrated strategy combining several complementary technologies:
- a mechanical system featuring an earth-to-air heat exchanger
- air-source heat pumps
- solar collectors
- a rotary heat recovery unit
This approach helps reduce energy consumption while ensuring a stable and comfortable indoor environment for students and staff.
Intelligent and automated comfort
The school also benefits from an innovative voice-controlled automatic regulation system. It enables multipoint detection in each classroom, ensuring consistent temperature levels throughout the building. This technology directly contributes to occupant well-being and enhances the quality of the learning environment.
This project illustrates gbi’s ability to design high-performance, sustainable technical solutions tailored to the specific needs of the education sector.
