As part of new transshipment operations at the Quadra mining site in Malartic, gbi was mandated to carry out an atmospheric dispersion analysis of chemical contaminants and particulate matter associated with the activities.
The mandate included analyzing inputs and unloading operations, as well as characterizing contaminants such as hydrogen peroxide and regulated fine and total particulates. Using site-specific meteorological and topographic data, the team conducted advanced dispersion modelling with recognized tools to assess concentration levels in the surrounding environment.
The study aims to evaluate the potential impact of emissions on sensitive receptors and to confirm compliance with the Clean Air Regulation (RAA). In the context of a remote site with limited data availability, gbi adapted its approach to deliver a rigorous analysis supporting environmental permitting.
