In a context where flooding events are raising concerns among residents and local authorities, gbi was mandated to conduct a preliminary study to assess the impact of lowering the spillway crest on flood conditions in the area.

Based on advanced hydraulic analyses and 2D numerical modelling, the study evaluates different scenarios to measure the potential effects of this intervention on water management and flood risk reduction. The mandate also considers site-specific characteristics, including its recreational and tourism value and the presence of a fish passage, to ensure a balanced approach between hydraulic performance, environmental protection and land use.
