Saint-Philippe Wastewater Treatment Plant

Saint-Philippe Wastewater Treatment Plant

This project involved the construction of a new wastewater treatment plant for the City of Saint-Philippe, designed to modernize existing infrastructure and meet current and future treatment needs.

The new facility completely replaces the existing plant and introduces an efficient and sustainable treatment process. The plant is designed to treat 9,300 m³ of wastewater per day while effectively managing pollutant loads, including 615 kg/day of biochemical oxygen demand (BOD5) and 740 kg/day of total suspended solids (TSS).

The treatment process includes several stages: screening, grit removal, biological treatment using a moving bed biofilm reactor (MBBR), dissolved air flotation, UV disinfection, as well as sludge digestion and dewatering.

A Complex, Multidisciplinary Project

Delivered through seven construction packages, the project required the existing plant to remain operational throughout construction.

gbi’s teams were responsible for:

  • biological process modelling
  • complete multidisciplinary design
  • preparation of plans and specifications
  • stakeholder coordination
  • construction supervision
