Are you looking to gain hands-on experience in building structural design?
For Winter 2027, gbi is looking for a civil engineering intern specializing in building structures to join its team. This internship will allow you to contribute to a variety of institutional, commercial, residential and industrial building projects alongside experienced professionals and a multidisciplinary team.
As an intern, you will collaborate with professionals from different disciplines and discover the main stages of a project, from design to construction.
Challenges awaiting you
- Contribute to the design and development of building structure projects
- Participate in the modelling and analysis of concrete, steel and wood structures
- Prepare plans, drawings and technical documents
- Perform structural calculations and verifications
- Assist in the preparation of specifications and construction documents
- Consult applicable standards, codes and regulations
- Coordinate with architecture, mechanical, electrical and civil engineering teams
- Participate in construction site visits
- Conduct technical research as required
- Perform any other related tasks
Profile we’re looking for
- Be currently enrolled in a bachelor’s degree in civil engineering or a related field, with an interest in building structural design
- Demonstrate a strong interest in building structures
- Possess basic knowledge of Revit, an asset
- Possess basic knowledge of AutoCAD, an asset
- Be proficient in the Microsoft Office suite
- Demonstrate rigour, curiosity and strong analytical skills
- Show attention to detail and good organizational skills
- Possess strong communication and collaboration skills
- Demonstrate initiative and a willingness to learn within a multidisciplinary team
