Mathieu Tremblay, eng.
For Mathieu, there is no such thing as chance in life. Each step of his journey has led him to find his place at gbi, where he feels in perfect harmony with his values and his ambition to contribute to meaningful projects.

From a young age, Mathieu knew he wanted a career in science. Fascinated by complex systems, he chose to specialize in building mechanics—a discipline that combines networks, control systems, and multidisciplinary collaboration. After studying at the Université de Sherbrooke, where he completed four internships in various fields, he began his career in consulting engineering, a path that quickly felt like a natural fit.
His move to Montréal gave him the chance to explore other facets of engineering, this time working in production engineering within industrial plants. This diverse experience helped him build a unique expertise and reinforced his desire to take on new challenges. In 2020, during the uncertainty of the pandemic, he joined gbi.
The human values at gbi and the autonomy I have in my role immediately convinced me, he explains.
From his very first project at gbi—the expansion of La Fraternité School—Mathieu knew he was in the right place. This project allowed him to put his expertise to work while collaborating with a dynamic, committed team. Since then, he has continued to make his mark on major projects, including the renovation of the Claude-Robillard Sports Complex—a particularly meaningful and memorable project for him.

“This project is a huge challenge, but also a tremendous source of pride. I was deeply moved when the client requested that I continue to supervise the project. That kind of recognition is truly priceless,” he shares.
In parallel, Mathieu also contributed to the development of Airsite, a proprietary software created at gbi that’s revolutionizing construction site monitoring.
For Mathieu, gbi’s success is rooted in its teams. He also highlights the key role played by his manager, Alexandre Blain, whose leadership empowers and motivates him to go above and beyond.
Three words to describe gbi :
When asked to sum up gbi in three words, Mathieu answers without hesitation: “Skilled, human, and happy.“ These values are reflected in every aspect of his work—from the delivery of high-quality concepts, to stakeholder collaboration, and the positive impact their projects have on the community.
