Awards and Recognitions

The mandate entrusted to gbi consisted of assessing and designing the layout of the roadway culverts, as well as preparing the plans, cross-sections, and pavement details for a 130-km network of access roads leading to the various wind turbine platforms.

The deliverables provided were produced for the purpose of submitting environmental authorization applications related to clearing activities and road construction. gbi notably assessed the needs and analyzed the field surveys to prepare roadway cross-sections, detailed designs for hydraulic structures (culverts, cofferdams, and temporary drainage channels), and plan-based specifications.

This project stood out for several key elements:

  • A very tight schedule, requiring an optimized methodology for design and deliverable production.
  • Specific adaptation to site constraints, notably for the passage of heavy vehicles and the transport of large wind turbine components.
  • An integrated approach considering environmental requirements related to wetlands and watercourses.
  • The use of standard drawings to accelerate delivery, with more detailed plans scheduled for complex sections.
  • Effective and continuous communication with the client, enabling rapid adjustments to the project’s evolving needs.
